Evidence before assumptions.

Good contributions are specific enough to reproduce, safe enough to share and honest about uncertainty.

  1. Sanitize everything.Remove customer names, public IPs, hostnames, credentials, secrets and identifying topology details.
  2. Describe the environment.Include relevant versions, topology, traffic direction and recent changes.
  3. Separate facts from theories.Label observed evidence, working hypotheses and confirmed root cause.
  4. Close the loop.Explain the fix, verification steps and how recurrence can be prevented.
Security and privacy: Never submit passwords, private keys, VPN PSKs, tokens, confidential logs or unsanitized customer data. Submissions may be edited or declined to protect privacy and maintain technical quality.
